New Stuff Alert
Ok?
Last time we spoke, I was studying for the CA Real Estate Salesperson Exam. I was in a study den for two weeks and emerged… triumphant! I passed, thank sheesh. And now I’m moving and shaking on the West side of LA. More on this soon/watch this space.
Since my new job requires much driving, and since I’ve trained my brain to listen to audio books and podcasts at 2x speed, I’m consuming more content than ever. Let’s dive in.
Reality Checked: America’s Next Top Model (Netflix)- I forgot how well I know these contestants. It was heartbreaking to see where many of them are now and their negative experiences on the show. Something very off with Tyra (her eyes are vacant??). And the Jays and Nigel didn’t take quite enough accountability for my liking. Great doc though! A-
The Burbs (Peacock)- I wish it was good but it’s not. Sad! C
Tell Me Lies series finale (Hulu) - Thank GOD it’s over. But I’m also going to miss it. I never want to see these people again, but I miss them already.
56 Days (Amazon Prime)- Terrible, amazing. Based on this Irish book I love. They made the series American which didn’t work as well for me. Dove Cameron looks like a Bratz doll in a gorgeous and scary way. B-
Australian Survivor (Network 10)- I like Australians. There’s a participant named Lyndl. She plays Poker and goes by “Swyndl.” Another guy wears a hat and at one point he says “my hit is made of tin beavas.” A-
Paradise (Hulu) - I love the addition of Shailene Woodley and her backstory at Graceland. Wtf is going on with Thomas Doherty’s character not knowing cultural references? Something is afoot and I’m intrigued. A-
Scrubs (Hulu)- I missed these guys! I haven’t had many lols yet as they’ve gone an earnest route with the reboot. But I will keep watching and enjoying. B+
Summer House (Bravo)- Boring this season! The cast is too self aware! B-
Southern Charm (Bravo)- Not boring and unhinged, just how I like it. A
Survivor (CBS)- I’m really excited about this season. The stakes are high and the players are bringing it to the max. A
House of Villains (Peacock)- I’ve never dabbled with this show because I thought it was trashy. It is, but in a fun and hilarious tongue-in-cheek kind of way. Joel McHale is bringing The Soup silliness as host. A-
Books
Her Last Breath by Taylor Adams- A blockbuster. A banger. An adventure. I certainly won’t be spelunking any time soon. A+
The Girls Before by Kate Alice Marshall- Marshall always delivers. Solid thriller with solid twist I didn’t see coming. B+
How to Get Away with Murder by Rebecca Philipson- Unique thriller about a detective investigating a book about how to become a serial killer. A little too much hemming and hawing and misunderstandings for my liking, but ultimately enjoyable and clever. A-
Movies:
How to Make a Killing- Knives Out-style romp. Margaret Q is an amazing villain. Glenn P is charming. A-
Crime 101- Slightly underwhelming but many familiar faces (Mark Ruffalo in the house), and I love the adventure around LA (my home!). B
Scream 7- Straight up not good! C-
Ok TTYL! TTFN! Ta ta for now!

I’m surprised by your Summer House rating!
Dove Cameron looks like a Bratz doll HAHAHAH DEAD. Also Haven't read any of those books, and it makes me so happy that I'll get to read good stuff :)
